Bakery Emulsions Natural & Artificial Flavor 4oz-Pumpkin

I really didn't enjoy this at all.It's more personal taste than the actual product though so don't write it off unless you're similar to me. It tastes very heavy on the cloves which I'm not as keen on in my pumpkin spice. I've opted for making my own at home and using about half the cloves recommend in any recipe, along with leaving out all spice as that is also strong on cloves.

Wanted to add a little taste of pumpkin pie spice to my baking and coffee. I was excited to find this, as the powder does not do the job as well. The reason for the one star deduction, is there is an oily aftertaste that is not pleasant. You have to let it sit and mellow out.

I've never used a product such as this before. Out of curiosity I bought this to enhance the flavor of baking with butternut squash in lieu of pumpkin. The majority of the recipients of my baked goods during this time of year are not fans of pumpkin and I had the bright idea to give this a try. I used 1/4 tsp in a small batch of homemade pumpkin spice syrup to experiment on myself first, and WOW! I'd used the recipe before, and was not a fan. I used pumpkin just as the recipe called for. This year I used squash and this emulsion and I really liked the outcome. I then used the emulsion in a recipe for pumpkin muffins (using squash) and was very happy with the outcome. I didn't get a 'chemical' or artificial flavor-taste in the muffins or the syrup. I am satisfied with my purchase.

Great product for the price! I was a bit worried when I first smelled it because the scent is *very* strong, and I was concerned that it would overpower whatever I was making. I made both pumpkin bread and pumpkin spice coffee syrup and added a conservative amount (about 1 teaspoon) to each. They turned out perfect! Start small and work your way up to a flavor that satisfies you. I love that it works well in both baked goods and drinks. Looking forward to trying more flavors!
