Scissors came rusty and well used, don’t bother ordering it.

So look, I broke the tip of my $60 shears doing something stupid so I decided to punish myself by buying the cheapest pair like the one I had. To that point, for the price you simply can't expect to find a better Bonsai Shear. It arrived very fast and was exactly what I expected. The shape is perfect with a long reach and just like my more expensive tool which allows you to nimbly reach in and make the cuts you need to without scratching your hand or breaking off buds you want to keep.That said, there are some serious limitations to these. They hurt to use as the shaft part of the handle is square. I can't see using these for hours on end during the spring on a new tree. Also, the tip is rounded more than I would like. I'm sure this is to prevent just what I did to mine, but I really miss that tip and was 90% of what I used the shears for. So while I HIGHLY recommend using these over non-bonasi tools, I would also recommend buying a better quality one if you can.

I had hoped for these pliers to shape plants on my patio, but I learned they work on smaller, non-woody "limbs". Trimminging non-woody limbs about 1/8 inch took a surprising amount of effort. The sharpness seemed sufficient, but it appears that the width of the cutters, combined with the angle probably contributed to the unexpected effort. The design for sure is robust, and making them robust in my mind may have been a tradeoff. For Bonsai trimming I would still recommend them as they do give a nice, clean cut, albeit with a bit of effort on larger twigs.

For the price, I didn't expect it to feel as solid as it does. It was sharp for me straight out of the box, and can cut decent sized branches if necessary.
