This tea set is so cute! I love the authenticity that comes with this product while making matcha green tea. This set has everything you need! The bowl is a great size, and everything else is very simple. I recommend this product to anyone looking for a reliable tea set for a reasonable price!

Everything is as it should be, of correct type and design. It's a basic set with all the utensils you need for having matcha except the hot water and the matcha. I was rather impressed with the tea bowl (chawan). It is a proper shape for using with matcha, made well, and pleasing to hold in the hands. Neither light nor flimsy, the bowl helps bring the aromatics of the cha to your nose and also facilitates whisking. I'd been making do with a small rice bowl, and switching to this proper cha bowl definitely improved my froth. I'm very pleased with this product. I would rather it didn't have the company logo engraved in the bamboo, but I'll put up with that for a value this good.

I just received my matcha tool set and believe it to be a great set for the price asked. I ordered the red set because I think the green matcha will look beautifully against the red chawan. The chawan (matcha bowl) will hold 12 full ounces of liquid but I will keep it to under 10 ounces to ensure there is no spillage and waste of tea. The red color is a muted, earthy tone and the shape feels rustic but elegant and it feels great in my hands. The chasen (bamboo whisk) is sturdy enough and has 77 tate (prongs) and I know I will have to replace it in the future as I would any other chasen due to wear and tear. The chashaku (bamboo scoop) is not as sturdy as I'd like so I will have to be gentle with its use. The bamboo spoon is cute and sturdy, although I don't foresee using it much for matcha making. The chasen kusenaoshi (whisk holder) is a perfect match to the chawan and fits the chasen beautifully. The tray is lightweight but very well made and brings the whole kit together. The kit came packaged nicely, although I would have preferred more packing material to ensure against breakage. Mine arrive quickly and safe. I wish the seller would have included care and use instructions so, I will provide what I have found and my preferred method of making matcha. For the care of your chasen, each time before you use is, dip it in hot water (not too hot-not boiled) for 30 seconds to allow the chasen to unfurl (this is normal and it's supposed to happen), this will also keep your chasen pliable when whisking and will guard against breakage. While your chasen is soaking, pour hot water in your chawan to warm it up and then discard water and dry it with a soft cloth. Dry your chasen and using your chashaku and a strainer, sift 2 scoops of matcha into your chawan (this will help you get better tea consistency and froth). Add desired hot water (not too hot or boiled as this will make the matcha bitter), begin whisking with the chasen slowly and then faster in "W" or zigzag motion without hitting the sides of the chawan until mixed and you get a dense velvety froth (no big bubbles). Sip right away and enjoy. Use less or more water as you desire. Pour hot water (not too hot or boiled) into used chawan and whisk used chasen until clean. Dry chawan with a soft cloth, dry chasen and place on chasen kusenaoshi to maintain chasen's shape. I am not an expert but I do enjoy matcha wholeheartedly and hope this review was helpful to you. I may edit my review once I have used my kit a few times to reflect products' endurance. I want to point out once again, that the unfurling/uncurling of the chasen is normal and it is supposed to happen.

The quality is great! I highly recommend. Would definitely repurchase!The only reason I took off a star is because a part of the whisk broke after a couple use.

When this arrived in the box I thought I was going to be upset, it appeared so small until I took it out. Im actually surprised that the company doesnt charge more, Id pay more for it. Its not a big cutting board size, prob the size of a standard bible plus index card. Completely adorable, but heavy in weight, there is definitely quality there. The bowl isn't a perfect shape but thats what makes it unique, handmade. I dont know anything about whisks but I love this one, the holder is pretty sturdy also. Has some weight to it so you know if won't just fall over. Im really happy with it, I couldn't be any happier, even if there was cheap matcha included. Simple, convenient and sturdy... won me over.
