Very bad at recording, when talking into the mic the puns is hardly heard on playback. Not a good if used as a dictaphone.

First off, I love this thing. I'm going to talk about all the positives before I get into the negatives. This thing looks great! I absolutely love the large window on the door, makes it easier to see whats going on with your tape, and other people see you still use tapes. The controls are nice and the unit doesn't feel too cheap. It has a built in microphone which is a nice feature. I was very pleased to find that there is no noticeable wow and flutter and the set speed it good! The back is held on by 4 screws so it should be easy to service. They also made it very easy for you to change the speed and the head adjustment.Now for the negatives, I have two of them. Firstly, Theres a problem with the headphone jack. When you have headphones inserted all the way into the port, the sound is very far away and at times, only comes out of one ear. To fix it, you have th slightly tug/pull out the jack and it sounds normal. I ordered a replacement as I'm not going to sit there and hold the headphone plug the entire time I want to listen. Secondly, using the built in mic for recording is TERRIBLE! When recording, all you hear is the sound of the motor.One thing I wish this had, but isn't necessarily a deal breaker, is a belt clip.Overall, I think that this was just a defective unit and I'm hoping the next one will work, and if it does, definitely going to keep it. In a world where all new players are just garbage, this one is alright.UPDATE:I got the second unit! Unfortunally, it has the same problem. it's not as bad, but as soon as you touch the headphones or move them slightly, the sound goes out. Also, the speed is set too slow. I am very disappointed.

Vielleicht habe ich ein schlechtes Exemplar erwischt aber ich möchte hier anmerken, dass Amazon Retourenverkauf selber aussagt, sie würden jede Retoure auf Funktionalität überprüfen und erst dann wieder neu verkaufen. Hier scheint dieser Job nicht gemacht worden zu sein. Der Lautstärkeregler, kontrolliert bei meinem Exemplar nicht die Lautstärke sondern das Stereo-Panning also den rechts links Anteil. Wenn das voll aufgedreht ist sind rechts und Links symmetrisch und mir platzen die Ohren. Die zwei größten Fehler hier sind zum einen, dass der Anschluss für externe Mikrofone nicht funktioniert und ich kein Signal bekomme und zum zweiten, dass das eingebaute Mikro so nah am Motor liegt, sodass bei jeder Aufnahme das Mototrsirren alles übertönt. Dieses Gerät dann auch als KassettenREKORDER zu verkaufen ist nicht zweckmäßig. Nicht mal mit bestem Willen könnte ich mit diesen Aufnahmen etwas anfangen. Ich werde das Produkt zurückgeben
