It's rare for me to use the extra power my ebike has, because in general traffic, 15mph is more than enough. Some people won't see that I'm reducing my carbon footprint or getting fit, and they definitely wont see that if I take my battery off, what I have is a quite heavy traditional bike. You cannot compare a battery ebike to a moped, where with a moped you have a 120mile range and dont have to pedal and easily reach 30mph and not worry about a 6 hour charge time, but the government and therefore the plod cannot distinguish between an ebike and a moped will take an interest in impounding your investment. So find the power rating on your wheel hub, and stick one of these over it, and one on the battery, and hope that it passes quick inspection.
