Ik heb meerdere boeken van Fundamental Changes en het is mijn favoriete reeks. Elk boek tot nu toe is begrijpelijk en geven de juiste informatie. Ik heb dit boek gekozen omdat ik me meer in finger picking wou verdiepen: Danny Vera Rollercaster-style en heb juist voor de beginner versie gekozen om de basics deze keer niet over te slaan. In het boek worden een aantal nummers aangedragen om de oefeningen die er in staan toe te passen. Dat is erg nuttig. Ook het downloaden van de audiofiles gaat gemakkelijk. Top boek! I'm an intermediate player and, until recently. always electric and always with a pick. To learn something new during lockdown, and get more out of a new acoustic guitar, i thought I would make an effort to begin to learn finger picking. This book starts with building a sound foundation in the right way to fingerpick then adds more interesting patterns, flourishes and chord variations.It's not a book to rush but time put into getting the examples right ( the the audio tracks are really helpful) is well rewarded. Halfway through and a whole new world of guitar playing is opening up. Highly recommended.

I got the kindle edition and am enjoying it - it goes from really basic to, I would say, almost intermediate level - there are 1122 pages. So depending on your level you could spend years, months or weeks going through it - time which will be well spent. The downloadable mp3 files of the exercises are really helpful and a must have complement to the book. Just one grouch - the exercises can't be printed from the kindle edition, so a downloadable pdf file of all the exercises would be most welcome and should not be so difficult to do? Thank you for the book - definitely recommended!

After receiving my copy of Beginner Acoustic Fingerstyle Guitar, I downloaded the accompanying audio files. The lessons culminate in several songs, which sound great, and are more advanced than I was expecting. However, it wasn’t clear to me how I was going to get there from my novice state. When I played a sampling of files from the beginning to the middle, I could see that the lessons start out very basic, and build in a logical manner. I then sat down with my guitar and the book, and read the mechanics of the PIMA technique. Sometimes I would play the audio for a lesson, and then my guitar. Sometimes I would play from the tabs, and then confirm with the audio. Sometimes I would play along with the audio while reading the musical notation. There are a lot of things that one can learn by following this exceptionally well laid out book. In a very short time, I could actually feel my thumb and fingers becoming more independent. While I am still very far from being a good guitarist, Beginner Acoustic Fingerstyle Guitar has given me the confidence that, with continued practice, I will ultimately get to where I want to be. To me, this is a major win.
