The problem with these templates is how insanely thick the plastic is. You cannot get a fabric pencil through the stencil to make contact with your fabric. I tried FOUR different fabric pencils. Then I tried regular colored pencils. Then I tried mechanical pencils. None of them could make contact with my fabric through the stencil. So the stencil is just about useless... unless I use a Micro pen. But how many of you want to draw on your fabric in permanent ink and then try to cover it with thread? Not many, I'm guessing.Also, the stencils are very small. Think coaster size, like for your drink. That small. I knew they were small when I ordered them, but wow. In combination with the fact that they're at least 1/8" thick, they make better coasters than they do stencils.

I bought these to get me started with sashiko. They work well BUT you’ll need a fine tip pen or pencil because they are pretty thick and the lead doesn’t reach the fabric with most of my mark making tools.

The stencils are not translucent. The material is milky. I have not try them yet but I was surprised by the difference from the pictures to reality.
