Don't normally write reviews but thought I should for this item. Firstly it is solidly built with a one piece handle which can't work loose like cheaper versions. Easy to assemble, only two screws. Works well in stone free soil but as any version of this tool stones are an issue. A bit of jiggling usually works, if not you need to reposition. Tines are tappered so don't clog easily like parallel tined versions. The collection tub hold about 6 to 8 dibs worth of cores. All in all a nice bit of kit which makes the task a lot easier than the cheaper versions. Well worth the money

Gestern erhalten und gleich getestet. Sehr massiv. Vom Material keine Beanstandung. Preis-Leistung echt top.

Keine Verformung. Erde fällt gut raus. Absolut zu empfehlen

I wanted to overseed my lawn and was looking at all the gardening websites that say its very important to scarify then aerate with hollow tines before seeding. Most of the websites say “hire an aerator”, great, until you start trying to hire one and then they hit you with waiver fees, deposits, transport fees, some of them tell you you have to buy the petrol from them,..and all of a sudden you’re paying north of £350 for 2 days! I don’t know what planet these gardening websites are on, or who their expected customer base is but they must all be affluent since £350 is a drop in the ocean. Now I already have an old electric scarifier I bought 10 years ago for about £60 new off here I think. So the aerator is the thing I want. But there’s no way I’m paying £350 to a hire firm that may well be unscrupulous and charge me for imagined damage, or if I’m out when the decide to collect charge me for another day. Sruff that, hope they choke on ‘em. 😊So plan ‘B’ is to hand aerate. Let’s face it before the 1950’s I’m sure there weren’t many places that used a petrol aeration machine, but the parks, cricket pitches, bowling greens notwithstanding Mr Brown next door’s lawns were immaculate.Well, there’s the background. Plan ‘B’ it is. So a little about me, I have never bought a product from Amazon that doesn’t have any reviews. I look at reviews carefully and you’ll always get some moaner or Darwin Award For The Week candidate, but if you follow the form and discount reviews posted the same day with dodgy names and broken Engrish you normally get a good product.I started looking at these hand hollow tine tools and reading reviews a lot of them seem flimsy and break at welds halfway through the job. That’s no good to me, I’ve a 360 m^2 lawn and if it breaks on Sunday where am I gonna get one in an hour.I saw this product, no reviews and almost 3 times the price of the generic products on here, but it looked sturdy, so I took a punt.Review: This came the next day. It’s a hefty price tag, 3x what the other products were pitching in at, but they are mild steel, and fail at welds and maybe won’t stand the test of time. As I said the price tag is hefty but so is the product. I’m quite happy to be the first to review as I think y’all missing a trick. Yeah it’s steep, but you get a quality oval section steel welded shaft and handles. The head if you can call it that is 3mm stainless with welded stainless tines. The tines have a slightly smaller diameter at the business end. When it arrives in the box there are only 2 jumbo cross point screws you need to assemble the head to the shaft then you’re away.Have already tried it, extrusion as with other makes, forces the ‘dog turds’ out onto your lawn, you want to keep them there to break down naturally. I think the smaller diameter ‘business end’ stops the tine from clogging, and does a great job. It’ll take me a day to aerate my lawn, but at least I’m sticking it to the (hire) man.Fun fact; the cleaning tool is slightly larger than the smaller diameter on the tine, so you can’t get all of the slug out when it’s time to put it away. I’ve took about half a millimetre off each side with my bench grinder to ‘make it so’, which is a shame as it would grace any tableware with your dinner parties. Use a normal screwdriver to clean it all up and wash out with water. Yeah, it’s stainless.Pros.A sturdy tool that won’t bend or break on bricks or tree roots in your lawn. Stainless steel head will last a long time – not a throwaway one time use purchase.Cons3 times the price of competing products, but will they last as long as it takes you to read this and leave you high and dry halfway through your job.Excellent quality, a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. I feel like an old boy in times past now :)
