This video capture card is a great way of capturing video and audio from a USB-C source, the obvious things being mobile devices such as phones and handheld consoles. It is plug and play and worked immediately with no issues. The option to provide power via an additional USB-C port is particularly useful as the USB-C port used for video output may also be the only option for powering the source device simultaneously so as not to be relying on battery power. It is worth noting power is only provided to the source device and not the recording device.All in all this is a well made little device at a sensible price.

This little gadget is SUPER COOL. I must say, it's a bit clunky, to set up, but once it's good to go... it is GOLDEN.1. To set up, plug the long side of the wire into the device you want to mirror/output.2. Next up, plug in the power source to the side of the device.3. Lastly, plug in the short side of the wire into the device that you want to display to.Something to note though, you MUST make sure that the power source you use is outputting enough power that's adequate to support the device that you're trying to mirror/output (the long side of the wire). For example, I was trying the Nintendo Switch and was using a regular smart phone FAST charger thinking it'd be enough. NOPE, didn't work. I had to use the proper Switch charger adapter. I'd imagine with the Steam Deck, same thing... must use the Steam Deck's charger, etc., so definitely be mindful about the device that you intend to use and that you are powering it up with the official or equivalent power supply.In my set up, I sent it to the signal to display onto my Meta Quest 3 and it was AWESOME. There's an app on the Quest 3 called "HDMI LINK" (or something like that), where once a signal is received which in my case was the Switch, it prompted me with some setting options and once confirmed, WHOA AND BEHOLD a 100+ inch display of Mario & Zelda GOODNESS! There were very few artifacts, if any, and for the most part the display on my Quest 3 looked practically as good as on the TV.The downside about this set up, at least for me as a Quest 3 user is that because the source device must be powered on (at least for the case for the Switch), that you must be tethered to the power source. So in terms of mobility, not ideal.A second downside is although the set up works, the set up is clunky, at least for the case of the Quest 3 set up. I just wish it was a little easier to manuever and move around the wires, etc. for a cleaner look but nah... not possible.Overall, the device still works great and the quality of the reproduced video is smooth and looks good. The set up and requirement for a separate power supply is less than ideal, but the goods definitely still outdoes the minor inconveniences. If you're looking for a way to output your USB-C device to another USB-C display, then look no further as this cool little device gets the job done practically perfectly. Recommended 100%.

I'm a reasonably techy guy with most things, but a total (by intent) Luddite around cell phones. I refuse to let them take over my life. So I sought help from an electrical engineer friend who is really into just about everything computer and cell phone related. This device worked great with his Samsung S24, but does not work with my Samsung Galaxy A54. Apparently the USB-C port on the A54 is USB 2.0, which does not support the bandwidth for HDMI. Details on this are a bit fuzzy.My guess is that you need a relatively recent, and relatively high-end phone or tablet for this device to be useful. I hope this review is helpful to you.

Ich gewöhne mir gerade ab, für jeden kleinen Kiki-Rechner einen KVM einzusetzen. Ich fahre auch sehr gut und bequem mit einer Video-Capture-Card zu meinem Hauptrechner. Keyboard und Maus gehen auch recht gut mit Bluetooth oder einem einfachen USB-Dongle für ein Deskset (kombiniert Keyboard und Maus an einem Receiver).Tatsächlich ist das dann ggf. auch einiges praktischer in dieser Kombination. Tragischerweise machen die Capture-Cards real meist nur full-hd, egal was in der werbenden Titelzeile steht. Das ist hier auch so. Der begrenzende Faktur ist die USB-Verbindung zum Host: mit 5 Mbit ist einfach nicht mehr sinnvoll machbar. Wem das reicht der kann sich von dem Adapter quellseitige 4k auf 1080p runterbrechen lassen, aber dann wird es unscharf. In manchen Situationen könnte das aber trotzdem reichen.
