Then this is the kit for YOU!You will need to modify the body of the car, in order to get the weights in. The wheels and axles are not BSA approved. Plus, you will need a scale in order to get the correct weight, but over all the kit is great.My son came in last place the year before but this year he came in 2nd. The first place winner bought a pre-weighted/balanced/assembled car from Amazon.....cheater.....Overall we collected the tears of 15 kids, that cried as my son's car left them in the dust.

Okay, first off, throw away the axles and wheels. Use BSA wheels and axles and give the axles a good polish. Treat the BSA wheels however the rules allow. This kit is BSA legal as far as the axle slots and wheelbase.My son has used this kit for three years and has won 1st place for his rank every year with it. He set the track record last year with this car, but by the championship races the track was out of whack and finely tuned cars were the most affected.This is a great kit and, with a little bit of knowledge, makes a very fast car. I ordered more for this year. I'll put his past cars using this kit up against any other kit cars out there.

Very nice kit! The weight system is impressive. Beware the one-piece axles, they probably aren't legal for BSA competition. The kit comes with everything you need except sandpaper & paint. The instructions are pretty good but not always accurate with advice for making your car faster. Check YouTube and do your own testing. I found I could make a very good test track with two lengths of vinyl house siding I already had. Just prop one end up on a table or chair.

It is a complete kit, but you will need to sand it, as the cuts are rough. It also weighs 5.5oz with the included weights, 5.0iz. is the maximum weight allowed in Cub Scouts Pinewood Derby Races.

Very nice...I think they upgraded some stuff on their and polished the nails one less step that I needed to do. A bit heavy on the weight so may need to drill a few extra holes in wood or lead...nice design, well packaged.
