This was actually better than Desitin/ similar zinc pastes recommended by our peds/friends. Zinc paste leaves a sticky residue that's almost impossible to get rid of without actually having to bathe the baby, but bepanthen is colorless, not crazy sticky (it heals the skin by creating a barrier-like film that's super easy to clean), and works super fast and effectively. The tube is not super big, but you also don't have to buy a lot because you'll only need a pea-sized amount of the cream for the whole nether area (versus an insane amount of zinc paste you'll waste). Oh, and you don't have to apply it with a spatula. A lifesaver.
