This is a very well padded pair of cycling shorts but also did not feel too sweaty after a road session. The shorts have a thin unobtrusive waistband and grippy seams on the legs to prevent riding up. The padding is thick around the bottom and groin regions. The padding did feel a little cumbersome to begin with like wearing a groin box but my parts were glad for it after a few miles. The material is nice and stretchy too so comfortable to wear for prolonged periods and even has a couple of pockets on the legs although I would have preferred them to have a closure of some sort.
