This is one of my best purchased book in 30 years of playing guitar. Cd is superbe to listen. If you want to play jazz study this and put Grant Green Style in your own style, don't waste too much time in scales etc. Study the masters, and Greene is one of them.

Les transcriptions sont claires, rigoureuses et de haute qualité.L'enregistrement en ligne est lui aussi excellent et permet de bien entendre, mais aussi de jouer ou improviser.Bref, une belle plongée dans le style d'un immense guitariste de jazz.Ce livre est un outil parfait pour connaître et s'approprier la musique de Grant Green, et absorber son génie de l'improvisation.

Grant Green's guitar style, which is immediately distinctive, has proved extremely influential over the years. It is therefore surprising that Wolf Marshall's is the only book of Grant Green transcriptions available.People will always quibble over the contents of such a book. One complaint might be that there are no transcriptions taken from his landmark Idle Moments album. The transcriptions are of such high quality however, that such comments seem like nit-picking. Besides, if you learn all of the examples from this book, you will find it much easier to work out any Grant Green solo by ear.Featured in the book are good selections from the excellent albums Born To Be Blue and The Complete Quartets with Sonny Clark as well as transcriptions from various other Blue Note albums. Wolf Marshall demonstrates the solos well and the tracks are professionally recorded. This book is heartily recommended to all jazz guitarists.

Sensacional.Porém, não destaca às escolhas melódicas do Green. Quero dizer, um livro que não possui destaque nas escolhas melódicas, nomeando sobreposições e regiões que as frases são tocadas. Por outro lado este livro destaca as escalas, intervalos, etc.Se utilizar o material do Garrison Fewell com este livro, daí sim, tem pano pra manga.Necessita uma análise melhor sobre qual região tocar, a leitura de partitura ajuda encontrar uma região mais coerente.É sensacional poder ter acesso a estas belas melodias e entender um pouco mais a linguagem deste exímio guitarrista.Obrigado aos que fizeram este livro, fico muito grato pelo trabalho.O que eu citei, pensei como quem gosta de ir além do que já é disponibilizado, e só o fato de ter isto disponível já me deixa muito feliz e curioso.Recomendo demais, mas se tu queres entender o material do Green e da galera dessa época, pega um livro de solo destes caras e adquiri o material do Garrison Fewell, Jazz abordagem melódica.Ouro puro.Segue no meu canal Lauro Crivellaro, toco e faço análises dos solos destas feras,
