Wir haben das Spiel vor kurzem in der Verwandschaft gespielt und es uns dann zu Hause gleich selber gekauft. Nach Lesen vieler Rezensionen haben wir uns auch für das Original entschieden und das war richtige so! Die Hölzer werden beim Werfen nicht geschont. Ich kann mir gut vorstellen, dass das Spiel aus Birkenholz etc. nicht lange hält und viel zu leicht ist. Wir haben bisher auf Rasen gespielt. Die Hölzer waren anschließend stellenweise grün, aber das stört ja nicht, solange sie heil bleiben. Kleinere Dellen gibt es trotzdem. Außerdem sind sie schön schwer, so dass sie auch bei starkem Wind stehengeblieben sind.Wir können das Spiel ebenfalls absolut empfehlen, es macht riesigen Spaß! Sogar Kinder können problemlos mitspielen (ich würde sagen, ab 6 Jahre können die schon gut mithalten). Es ist kurzweilig und dauert pro Runde höchstens 10 Min. In der Gruppe macht es noch mehr Spaß, weil es dann viel Geschrei und Jubel gibt! Selbst die bisher nicht so Treffsicheren haben dann auch gute Chancen, zu gewinnen, zumal man von Runde zu Runde mehr Gefühl für die Wurftechnik bekommt und immer besser wird.Für die Kinder haben wir das Feld einfach verkleinert, da muss man sich meiner Meinung nach nicht so an die Vorgaben halten.Alles in allem eine tolle Anschaffung - die Ausgabe hat sich gelohnt! Alle, die bisher mitgespielt haben (Freunde, Nachbarn...) wollen es auch haben. Fazit: Unbedingt kaufen!!

Bought this as entertainment for my 65th. birthday celebration.First set had a suspect looking join in the king piece and a couple of possibly suspect knots in the throwing batons - speedily replaced by Amazon.It comes as white wood, albeit good and solid, and would obviously soon be looking grubby with use so I gave the pieces several coats of teak oil before using them.One year on the pieces are still looking good and providing excellent entertainment for visitors.33 year old sporty daughter loves the idea of lobbing sticks at geriatric parent.She also likes the idea of lobbing sticks at poor old son-in-law, so with Christmas moving inexorably closer I shall be placing another order.Do take the trouble to oil them - they will look much better for the effort.

Very nice quality pieces, each having slightly rounded edges, and a really nice feel. The game is an absolute blast.Game Pros:- amazingly fun game- can play with ANY combination of players - 1v1 up to 6v6 and any combination in between- can play with uneven number of players - it's not a problem to play 1v2 or 2v3 ...etc (probably not according to the "real" rules, but we've played with uneven teams without any issue)- more strategy than cornhole (in my opinion)Game Cons:- not infant-friendly like cornhole... you're not throwing beanbags, you're throwing chunks of wood - so it's not a game you can play while infants are running around.- differing rules online. This is not a big "con", as we just read the first set and played, and it was a blast. We later found other slighlty varying rules, that we tried, and ALSO had a blast - so... again, not much of a con, especially since they all had the same idea - just slight variations.Materials Pros:- came with all the pieces (of course)- I'm not sure what "rubberwood" is, but - they're heavy enough and have a solid/nice feel - I was skeptical, and expected rough-cut chunks of 4x4 or something, but - these were very nicely sanded, almost soft-feeling pieces... seems very good quality.-nice rounded edgesMaterials Cons:- not stained or coated - (I didn't expect them to be, as I believe there's a pricier version that is). I ended up staining them myself, but it's likely not necessary, as you probably won't be playing in the rain.- game instruction booklet is a bit lacking - nothing the internet couldn't clarify though- the wood dings up fairly easily - it doesn't hurt the game, and they're not large dings... just something to note I guess... you ARE, after all, throwing wood at wood - so this is probably expectedSide note:- If you have some string, we found it helpful to run a string around the outside of the playing field and one across the middle - it made it easier to quickly determine if the block was out of bounds, or across the mid-line.
