Always found porcelain tiles to be a nightmare to drill, so based on the reviews I gave these a try, they have proven to be a success. I've drilled 6 holes in no time at all compared to those cheap porcelain drills from screwfix. I expect the durability to be good based and the condition of the 1 drill bit I've used so far.

First, my husband is not an expert when cutting tile. There was a cracked tile that needed to be replaced. The replacement tile had to be filed down and the grinding bits, worked well. He was concerned that he didn't have to use water, but then realized the bits had wax to prevent overheating.

I've been experimenting with this set and for sure it has changed the landscape or my art tiles. I need a smaller size, but this is a good starter set.So, there is a core of wax inside each bit to keep it cool instead of using water. As the bit heats up, the wax melts to a liquid. This is great, until you want to put the drill down. If the wax is still liquid, it can run out of the top of the bit. My first bit worked ok, but my advice is to use the pointy bit first and just use the wax bit to grind it even. The pointy bit doesn't have wax, so use water to keep it cool.I got what I thought was 6 and 4mm bits, but it is 4x 6mm. I really need a 4mm, but I think I can pass on the fancy wax core.

Hard work but eventually these bits cut through extremely hard stone slabs. Used 6 to cut through 24 holes whereas ordinary masonry drills would not touch the slabs.

These drills last well and cut through porcelain tiles pretty easily. Good value as well, 5 drills for the price of 1 at Screwfix!
