I have never tried anything but regular imitation vanilla extract when making deserts, so I decided to try the real thing. I thought about getting actual vanilla beans until I found out how much they were, and that one had to soak them in alcohol for 2 to 6 months to extract their flavor! So I decided on trying this paste which is ready to go right out of the box. And boy, am I glad I tried it! The flavor is amazing, and there is plenty to use in the .76 oz/50g jar, and being a glass jar, it should keep for quite a while.
