The whole reason I purchased this item was because I was looking for a battery powered device. The description and specifications say it is battery powered, but what I got was one that required to be plugged in.

I'm leaving a 4-star review on this product, but keep in mind that I purchased mine right before Christmas, and before the end of April, it broke down. I'm still giving it such a high rating due to the air quality control it brings as well as the warrant process.Pros:-It can be very quiet on settings 1 and 2. 3 is louder, but not annoying, and it blows out such cold air you can almost use it as a fan if you're hot-It did improve smells quite a bit. We were going through a tough illness with our cat that eventually died, but before her passing, her vomit smelled SO FOUL. This Air purifier made it so that we didn't notice the smell until we saw it (good for odour but bad for us to be left with surprises)Cons:- Very top-heavy and awkwardly shaped. I have small hands, so moving this unit was difficult with both its shape and the fact that it was top-heavy. Also, its top-heavy nature meant it did tip over more frequently than other BlueAir models I've had in the past.-It broke down after roughly five months. Both purifiers I bought started to make a loud noise from the fan until the purifier eventually forced itself to shut down. After letting them sit untouched for a day, they still made a lower-pitched clacking noise before turning themselves off. I had to go through the warranty claim process with BlueAir.As for the BlueAir Warranty claim process, it was a bit slow, as I believe most of BlueAir's staff is situated in the US, but they were kind and courteous. After supplying information and evidence of the fault, they were willing to replace this unit with the next best model. I am still in the process of working with them, but, as long as you can supply evidence of the fault, have your proof of purchase, etc then you are good to go under the manufacturer's warranty. I most certainly expect to wait a bit, I can only hope that the products are shipped from the EU and not from the US. We will see.In conclusion, I have had Blueair air purifiers in the past and adored them. I'm not a fan of the new shape or construction, but the device still performs very well if you don't happen to get a faulty one (or two in my case). Also, my other cat loves to take hits from it like it's a vape so I can hardly mark it lower than 4 stars for her sake.

It isn't often a product like this surprises me, but the quality of this device is amazing. I have the higher end device which can detect PM1 material, and the device can detect when the window is open with the slight change in air quality. I have had someone pass gas, and the air filter has detected the change in air quality. I have cooked bacon, where the grease and fumes are hard to exhaust outbound, and this device does a great job in cleaning the air after cooking. My filters are working overdrive, so I would tell any other consumers to expect to replace filters every 4-5 months instead of 6. Also, do not purchase third-party replacement filters as they are paper thin and do not work. Wait for the Thanksgiving and Christmas season, and purchase multiple filters when they go on sale. The air flow is impressive. The fan is quiet, even on the highest setting. The device does connect to WiFi (optional) if you want to set schedules throughout the day. I personally just run my device 24 hours. The value I paid for mine is great. I purchased my device about six months ago during the Black Friday promotion, and ended up purchasing a second one for a family member.

I picked up the Blueair small desktop air purifier for my office at work. I have no windows or air circulation, so this offers me a little peace of mind during flu season. These refill filters are quick and easy to install. I change mine out about every three months.
