The 'valve' on the bottom of the glasses lets through liquid in the dishwasher. Dishwasher liquid residue stays stuck in between the glass layers and turns the glasses cloudy. Why is the lettering/branding on the bottom of the glass not removable?

Diese Glastassen sind uns für Heißgetränke einfach die Liebsten, weil sie wirklich lange warm halten, aber wir waren nie zufrieden mit der Qualität, bis jetzt:Wir hatten vorher schon ein paar Gläser dieser Art, also mit Doppelwand, ausprobiert, von Leonardo und NoName, alle sahen nach ein paar Spülgängen in der Maschine komplett sch... aus, weil Spülwasser in die Doppelwand eingedrungen ist.Bodum verhindert das mit einer Silikondichtung unten am Glasboden, die auch zum Druckausgleich dient. Fällt nicht auf, lässt kein Wasser rein, aber wenn nötig Luft raus, super Lösung.Die Gläser sind natürlich nicht ganz billig und Transportschäden bei dieser Art Gläser leider auch ab und zu möglich, aber dann einfach retournieren und gut, bei uns kam zu Glück bisher alles heile an.Ansonsten finden wir die Gläser auch super schön, das ist natürlich Geschmackssache. Auch das man sich kurz umgewöhne muss, wenn man vorher Gläser/Tassen mit Griff verwendet hat, fanden wir nicht schlimm und es ging schnell.Daher klare Empfehlung, die Gläser sind Geld absolut wert!

Évite de se brûler en prenant la tasse grâce à la double paroi en verre. Les deux tailles sont parfaites pour un expresso ou un café un peu plus long.

I was looking for some time for stylish looking double wall glasses to pair to my shiny new Melitta Barista TSP coffee machine and this 4 pack caught my eye as the price was great for the pack of 4 glasses. The excellent (and transport safe) packaging contains two large 0.35l and another two small 0.08l glasses. All of them are of great quality and are indeed very stylish as are most double wall glasses. There is sticker on the glasses itself to note that this is mouth blown glass and according to the packaging the exact material is borosilicate glass and silicone. There is one feature that is well advertised and that is the hydrophobic silicone vent on the bottom of each glass that seems to equalize the air pressure between the two glass layers with the outside air pressure… which should mean that the glass is more resistant to extreme hot or cold. Not sure if that makes any sense at all. My main findings about these glasses:• Design is very nice, build quality is excellent - no complaints. The exact model of the glass design is called PAVINA.• The small 0.08l glasses fit perfectly short coffee, however you should limit the coffee to around 70 ml to be on the safe side.• The big 0.35l glasses are great for cappuccino, but look empty when I use them with my usual Melitta Cafe Creme that is 120ml long. Just a visual issue for me.• Glass are quite light, more than I did expect them to be. The big glass does weight 183 grams while the small one comes at 64 grams. Probably it doesn’t seem so light, but feels like that in my opinion.• Due to the double wall construction glass only gets slightly warm with the coffee and that is not even right away.Overall I am very satisfied and I am glad that I ordered more than one pack which I will be gifting a friend to pair with his Saeco machine.
