The body camera arrived with several accessories, including a clip and tripod holder that I can slide into the back of the camera, a gray neck strap with a cartoon black-and-white cat and the word HALO printed repeatedly on one side plus a push-button detachable lanyard, a USB-C charging cable, a 32 GB microSD card class 10 V2 HC already inserted, and a microSD USB adapter.The camera itself has two buttons on each side. On the right, when looking at the front, there is a video recording button and a power button. On the other side, there is an audio recording button and a button to take pictures. At the bottom, there is one USB-C port for charging and data transfer and one microSD slot. On the back is a small screen that is a bit larger than an inch. While charging, I see a battery icon blinking green.I turn the camera on and off by pressing and holding the power button for 3 seconds. I enter the menu by shortly pressing the power button in standby mode, and I also use it as a return button when navigating menus or playback mode. The video button starts and stops video recording and confirms selections in the menu. The audio button starts and stops audio recording and moves the cursor up in the menu. The photo button takes pictures in standby mode and moves the cursor down in the menu.The screen displays the remaining recording time and battery level. To conserve energy, the body camera automatically turns off after 3 minutes of inactivity but does not do so during recording. I reset the camera to default settings by pressing all four buttons simultaneously if it freezes or needs resetting.Upon startup, I turn on the camera and enter standby mode by long-pressing the power button for 3 seconds. I start and stop video recording by short-pressing the video button. The camera saves videos in 5-minute segments by default until I stop recording or turn off the camera.The menu offers various settings, including playback, video resolution (with options of 1920x1080, 1440x1080, and 1280x720), motion detection, loop recording, flash (which is a constant LED light), screen saver, date stamp, date and time settings, interface language selection, and SD card formatting.In playback mode, I can view, delete, or protect files from being overwritten. However, I cannot play back audio files as the body camera lacks speakers. To view files on a PC, I can remove the microSD card and use the included USB adapter, or I can connect the camera directly via the USB-C cable. The camera automatically switches to mass storage mode, and a drive appears in the file manager where I find the recordings in the DCIM folder. The first time I played back recordings in my PC, I got surprised by the high volume. Now I always lower the volume before playing back. And I wish though that I were able use the body camera as a webcam, too.
