This bike seat is designed extremely well for such a simple bike seat. There is minimal cushioning, but you won't need cushioning because the back of the bike seat is flat like a chair (not rounded, like in the shape of a rainbow). I've found that other bike seats, due to their rounded shape, don't allow you to sit comfortably because the highest point is in the centre of the seat, so it puts pressure in the most uncomfortable spot. But because the back of this seat is flat and not rounded, you can sit comfortably because all the weight/pressure is evenly distributed. I'm sure there are other bike seats that are build better but for $30 CAD it's pretty decent, and I no longer feel the need to look for another seat.Just for reference, my previous bike seat was the 'stock' seat that my bike came with, and I bought maybe 5 other seats from Amazon before finding this one. I'm a woman, 5'7 (170cm), and I ride a mountain/commuter bike.
