Basic dishwasher flood. Overnight the water continued to very slowly seep into the tub and it eventually overflowed the tub and the retention basin in the base. Great way to start the day. Wasn't sure if it was the failure of the inlet valve, the float switch or both. Replaced the old float switch with this one. Works fine. Discovered after I replaced the water valve that the problem was only the valve not the float switch. Oh well

I had a problem with my Bosch SHU9910/UC dishwasher not filling the reservoir. After completing the inlet valve replacement and not seeing any change, I saw a YT video about replacing the float switch. This part is relatively cheap (in consideration to having a repair tech make a call), so I ordered it. It took about 1 week to arrive. After replacing the old switch, the problem was solved. I also compared the old replaced unit to another micro switch, and the button would not engage.

This is the same switch used to detect that the dishwasher door is closed. That’s where I applied this switch. The dishwasher operation used to stop mid-cycle and required a smack to the door to restart. I replaced the door switch using this switch and working flawlessly again. $28 repair saved me hundreds in a repair company or thousands in a new dishwasher!

The dishwasher wasn't draining. Then it was leaking a lot. We couldn't figure it out. We replaced the door seal thinking that was the issue. Nope, then it decided it didn't want to work at all. Someone submitted a review and said this switch is the culprit. He was rightWe replaced the switch...and it still didn't work. But only because we had wet vac'd all the water out of the base overflow. Once we got water into the lines again (accomplished by my electrician husband temporarily bypassing the switch) it worked. 12 year old dishwasher runs like new again.
