My 1998 VW Beetle was starting up -- running well for a few minutes and then stopping abruptly and then would not start again without cold. After it would stop running when cranking there would be no spark. Changing this part completely solved my issue. I changed it without removing my oil filter, but scheduling the change with an oil change may be smart just so you hands can get in there more easily. I also needed to get a 5mm hex bit socket to remove the one bolt that secures the unit.I cleaned the area very well with engine cleaner and then parts cleaner before attempting the repair. I used a small ratchet and extension with a swivel handle to get the 5mm end in the bolt. After removing the bolt, it took awhile to get the part to come out as it was very tight in here. I first twisted the old part up and down in it's hole for awhile and then was able to start carefully getting a screwdriver behind it to exert outward pressure -- but was very careful not to do too much of that, as I didn't want to brake the sensor off in the engine. Basically carefully moving it around for 20 minutes was required before it finally came out.Putting it in was easy, and for me, the cable length, connector-type, and routing was exactly as the stock unit. After installing the unit, the car ran as expected.To clear my all my codes, after putting this in, I also had to change my rear O2 sensor, as I think running this part bad can aid fouling the 02. You may not have to change the 02, course; I just saying I did and all codes were resolved after changing both.

Fit my b5 s4 without issue (there's always an issue). This part performed as expected and was reasonably priced.

It works perfectly with 2004 Audi TT 1.8. It fixed misfire, low milage and performance. I had a local mechanic do the replacement because it's easier on a lift, not expensive.
