Productdetails

First of all and above anything else: all other NC headphones are performing less in dampening the background. In posession now for some 3 months.Very content about the sound quality, simplicity of use, duration of the USB rechargeable battery

Ik had een QC25 met kabel, deze zonder kabel is toch wel heel erg fijn.

I really liked these headphones. The case they come in is nice and they fold pretty well into the case. The sound quality is very "Bose-like". So they sound really flat, but are really accurate. However, I like a rich sound with decent bass more when using Bluetooth headphones. If I want to listen to a really flat frequency response curve, I'd go with cabled reference headphones. The build quality is quite disappointing, they feel almost as cheap as 50 euro JBL headphones. The bass is also a bit lacking. You cannot turn the noise cancellation off, you can only switch to 'aware' mode. This however, was not a problem for me because the noise cancellation is AMAZING. These really are the best headphones when it comes to that, they completely block out the outside world. They're also really comfortable to wear. When I received the Sony WH-1000XM4s however, I decided to return the QC45s. They have richer sound, more bass, more features and better build quality than the Bose. This is personal preference however. If you do not like tons of bass and like a flat sound from headphones, get the QC45s instead. The comfort and noise cancellation is just THAT good on them.

I own these for 6 months now and I'm very disappointed. The only redeeming quality is that they're extremely comfortable (the most comfortable overhead headphones I've tried). I also like the mechanical on/off switch, it's a satisfying tactile feeling. Now let's get to the problems.- There's no way to disable the noise cancelling / awareness mode. So if you're using them outside feel free to choose between amplifying all the outside wind gusts in your ear or being hit by a bus. I mean, it's a simple firmware fix, I'm pretty sure it's just a malicious practice from Bose to make people buy newer Bose QuietComfort Ultra headphones which cost 2x (lol). Also this was present in previous model and they just took it away.- Noise cancelling has its own glitches. If there's some clanking sound (fork hitting a plate etc.) around this will hit your head like a hammer.- I have no idea why but if you're using a player like Deezer (not sure about Spotify, as I don't use it) between tracks the headphones produce some clicks. My cheaper Soundcore headphones don't do that. I googled it and I'm not the only one experiencing this.- The automatic switch between 2 Bluetooth connections is horrendous. I use it on both my work and home laptops and sometimes I listen music on one of them but then the headphones decide to switch to the other one which is sleeping (!). The only solution I found is to turn them off and then on.- From time to time my headphones would just go silent. If I restart them in this case, they turn on without remembering the latest mode I used. What is it, some kind of full reset? Kind of annoying.- The messages like battery low and stuff make the music / speech quiet and play on top of it. I mean come on, it's very informative and I would really like to listen to the low battery message in full details so that I can stop listening to my boss on Zoom.- The settings in the app are just laughable by today's standards, many cheaper brands offer much better setup (again, Soundcore is just superior here).- Irrelevant to this product, but the model line progression is: Bose QC35 -> Bose QC45 -> Bose QC. Whoever is in charge of naming should be fired. Try googling Bose QC without getting the results about the previous popular models. One of my biggest wishes is to see the recording of the meeting where this was approved, this sounds like a fun session.Overall, this is ridiculous to me. Bose is supposed to be one of the leading brands in the area, but as a result we got this abomination of a product, either by a malicious intent to collect more money at expense of the user experience or by incompetence, that I don't know. Most likely I'm getting rid of it and trying something else.

It is a good durable product, but microphone for calls picks up all the sounds around you and not your voice. After about a year of use and struggles, i am looking to buy something else

I was looking to buy QC headphones for a long time. Finally took courage to try my hands on QC45 and XM5. Both had offers running and XM5 had more discount over QC45. I went to near by croma store to compare both units.Noise cancellation:Croma had a very big closed indoor space with many people around during festival time, lots of devices playing in the background. Good environment to check the noise cancellation. I liked QC45 among the two. Off/On the NC we can clearly make out the difference.Comfort:Easy, relaxed, no irritation on ears, cups sat nicely over my ears with QC45. Cups are made of synthetic though it didn't make a diff for me. XM5 are big pushy on the ears and my ears touched the inside sound drivers literally.Ergonomics:You can't go wrong the QC45 cup controls. Works 100% everytime. Thanks to the old gen physical buttons. Otherside xm5 needs time to get used to touch controls. Need trial and error attempts before you master the controls.Sound:QC45 audio quality sounds realistic. XM5 comes with more punch and amplified base which I felt heavy on my ears.App:Bose app is simple and clear. No nonsense. First time Setup till playback is all guided via app. I have another Sony model XB910N and had experience using their app. They provide 360 audio which is not practical enough. You need to buy those special tracks from other listed apps to experience 360 audio. Sony plays their features to create stickiness for customers. Wat you see on their products is not always yours. You need to keep spending money.Color and looks:It's always subjective. QC45 smoke white color is a gold standard. Vintage piece to own.Marketing strategy:Sony and Bose are quite opposite in marketing strategy. Sony tends to attract young audiences by sharing the tech used in their products like " 8 array mic setup to get optimal noise cancellation experience". Even Bose does the same but they won't advertise their intellectual property information in public for any of their products. That differentiates how well the products reach to new age audience. You will rarely find discounts for Bose products. Sony sales in the last couple of years is heavily into discounts and festive offers.Alternatives:Bose 700 has all the bells and whistles to compete with XM5 for an extra money. But QC45 is classic. End of the day we are buying these headphones for the Audio experience and not for complex smart features on it.I suggest to try the models you like before making purchase decision. Don't go by discounts and brand names. I also followed the reviews on www.rtings.com before making this choice. Thanks for reading through my purchase experience. Happy shopping and enjoy 🙂👍

I've used both the QC45 and QC Ultra. The QC Ultra offers 10% better ANC and sound at almost double the price. QC45 is way better at comfort, can wear it for 6-7 hours easily. If you need solid ANC with good sound quality, this one is better than most flagships.
