Broke the original because it slipped off when filling the carafe with water. The new one fits the same way. It slides into place, but doesn't really lock on. Looks and fits just like the original.

Sooo super! Freitag bestellt, am Samstag schon geliefert. Und nun ist meine Kaffeemaschine wieder einsatzbeteit.

It's terrific for your vintage BRAUN coffee maker as it brings it back to health.Without this lid two things, the coffee doesn't flow properly unless you turn the pitcher off centresecondly the pitcher doesn't slide out of the 'base' smoothly.Now it does. Buy one and see!WarrenT

This lid was a perfect replacement fit. However my coffee maker was made in Germany and as indicated by another reviewer, the ones made in Mexico or China will not fit the same. Very happy with this item.
