I have been sewing for 55 years and use my machine nearly every day. My usual Brother Innovis 1250 was in the repair shop as after 8 years I had simply overused it and it needed a new clutch. I make everything myself including men's shirts, jackets and coats. I also make Dirndls and evening garments as well as embroidered items. I've used Singer, Pfaff, Husquarna and Brother machines and would class myself as a professional seamstress. I needed a strong machine for my upholstery projects and for sewing leather. After doing some research and as I already have a Brother machine with many additional feet and bobbins, I decided on this machine.I was using the machine within 15 minutes and put a new lining in a lamb's leather jacket. I also tried out all the 37 stiches. The stiches are neat and even and easily adjusted.The machine is noisier than my computerised sewing/embroidery machine but that's rather obvious since it is heavy duty and a mechanical machine. However, it is very strong which is exactly what I wanted.Now some have written this is suitable for beginners but my opinion is that a beginner may need a personal training. The bobbin winding is a little fIddly as well as the threading since the hook in the threading arm is a little hidden hence easy to miss. The bobbin has to be inserted in the correct direction and the little diagrams printed on the machine may also be confusing for a beginner. One slight mistake and it won't sew properly and a beginner may get disheartened.However, I am happy with machine and considering the cost of just short of Euro 300 it is good value for money. Brother make excellent and reliable machines.If I have a couple of niggles, one is the plastic lever for lowering the foot and the second is that there is no instruction booklet. My laptop doesn't have a cd slot and I will have to watch it on TV. However, most tips I picked up on Youtube. That's why I gave it a 4 and not a 5 rating.All in all a little work horse and good value for money!

C'est ma deuxième machine (la première c'était une bas de gamme de supermarché pour essayer), je l'essaye depuis 1 mois : je l'adore, elle est agréable. Je ne suis pas experte en couture mais pour l'instant je ne trouve pas de défaut à cette machine.

Sturdy sewing machine but not too heavy to lift. It is simple to operate so is suitable for beginners. Instructions and videos can be accessed using a QR code on the front of the machine. The cover is easy to take on and off. Overall, this is a good quality, robust product suitable for most sewing projects.

Très contente de ma machine, ne fait pas trop de bruit. C'est très pratique l'enfilage de l'aiguille.
