Buttons and Lace

Wow Buttons and Lace ...This would have to be one of my best ever reads. This book had me up late as I could not put it down. It had me on the edge of my seat and had my heart beating a million miles an hour. Follow pearl on her journey she is a strong and beautiful .you will fall in love with her. But be warned you will fall in love with bad boy Crow . I highly recommend this book the story line is amazing . I would like to thank the Author Penelope Sky for bring Buttons and Lace to me. each page was as exciting as the next. Everyone please put this in your must read list you will love it ....Now on to the @nd book Buttons and Hate....

And I skimmed the first part of the book, mostly because I wanted to challenge myself. But the change in perspective from romance to thriller was key in getting through it. I really do hate this trope, with a passion and I avoid books where it is the main plot because it’s super hard to live in reality where you know something like this is happening worldwide. But for some reason I was in the mood to challenge myself since my last 10 books have been all a DNF.So I briefly skimmed her time with bones. And it’s as horrific as you’d imagine. But I also hated crow from the get go, however I truly wanted to see how the Stockholm syndrome progressed. Because let’s be honest, these characters aren’t really human enough to ever actual love someone else.About 70% in I started rooting for Pearl in that at the end she would leave, after having eliminated all her abusers. I thought it would be fitting that she becomes something more to crow and leave him in the end. Of course I now know it’s for at least one more book so my plans to challenge myself have been foiled because I’m now roped into the next one.But in all honesty, I thought the book was really well written in that her struggle with her captivity and how her relationship to crow becomes influenced by her mental state was really well done. I thought the stunted phrasing in the writing style as it compared to the heavy plot topic was pretty on point and appropriate.

I love Pearl, she is a true heroine, not a victim.I always wanted to read about a woman who stood tall & victorious in a mountain of hell! As I know living in this world we all live in, not everyone goes through happy circumstance, but they fight every day to be happy at peace, to win over their own little hell, each day!Every book I have read so far, make women week, insipid. I have always wanted to read where a woman's journey is thwarted in purgatory; but she's still strong, agile, powerful in her femininity, courageous, firm, durable & capable to deal with anything that is heinous & she still can come out on top! That is who Pearl is. I love her story, her character, her tenacious spirit is.You, Penelope Sky are a brilliant writer! You have given women a true heroine, heroine who we women can believe in!This book is worth every penny.This is going to be one of my top favourite go to books that I know I will always go back & 're- read! This book is a 10 stars rating!!!

Great book, great story, great characters, I loved Pearl so much! But just one question: why Caine and Crow? They are italians,most of the story is in Italy, the only italian name is Vanessa!
