Just bought a Mac Studio and THEIR OWN HDMI does not support HDMI 2.1 consistently when connected directly to a Samsung QN90B. HDR would only be supported at 60hz or less, and restarts would randomly change the frame rate and dynamic range back to SDR. CableMatters' own USB-C to HDMI 2.1 cable also failed to support HDM! 2.1 well. However this adapter consistently keeps my Mac Studio connected to the TV in HDMI 2.1, with a consistent 2160p, 144hz, HDR configuration. Shame on Apple for sucking so bad at HDMI implementation, but CableMatters fixed it.

Don't expect this to work with a Mac to get 120hz.I have tried it with a Macbook Air M3 and neither directly from the laptop nor from a dock did it give me 120hz.What's worse is that this cable was advertised by their support team as a possible solution to get 120hz since it has their custom firmware for Mac preinstalled. I mention this because I originally bought their multiport adapter with the understanding that I would need to first run a procedure to update the firmware, since for some reason I don't understand they don't sell a version of the multiport adapter with the preinstalled firmware. The funny and the ugly part of this procedure is that it requires you to run it on a Windows laptop with usb-c with dp alt mode, but at least on my old Surface Book 2 (which their support team confirmed that has the requirements to run the update) did not work, nor did it work by trying to use Parallels with Windows on Mac (which their support guide mentions as an alternative solution).In other words, while their support team tried to provide some answers, they're both incomprehensible (how many users have both a Windows and Mac? If not many, how would be willing to lend it just for an update? And if the laptop is provided by a company, it likely won't allow the installation of uncertified software - yes, the origin of their update tools is unknown) and not viable.

bought this for our new Mac Mini M4 to connect the second monitor on my wife's work area. Running two new Dell 27" high res IPS monitors. Works great, image is great. I tend to generally like their products and am usually not disappointed.
