- Bepaalde 8K en 4K 120Hz-televisies kunnen een firmware update nodig hebben om goed te werken
- Op sommige 4K- 120Hz en 8K-televisies moet ondersteuning voor 4K 120Hz en 8K handmatig ingeschakeld worden.
- VRR/G-Sync wordt niet ondersteund.

Bought this adapter to upgrade my Macmini M1 from 60hz to 120hz. The firmware update was super quick - less than 5 mins including Googling what to do (keep in mind this must be done on a Windows device with a USB C port). Works perfectly on an M1 Mac after the firmware update.If you’re thinking against this because of the firmware update, I would suggest you really have nothing to worry about. Cable Matters knowledge base on how to update the firmware is clear and pretty much fool proof. It’s an easy update and pretty much set and forget unless (or until) Apple change something with an OS update. Even so, Cable Matters seems to be very much on the ball with their firmware updates to support Mac.

After having tried two seperate USB-C to HDMI cables (one from a competitor and one from CableMatters) which both didn't work for me, I tried this adapter as my last attempt before giving up...But luckily, this just worked instantly. No messing with firmware, no buggy settings changing all the time. It just works.Plugged it into my gaming laptop, and plugged in a HDMI 2.1 cable to my LG C2 - that's it.4K, 120hz, HDR, YCbCr444 - working without any problems.Also, 10 bpc RGB with full Dynamic Range seems to be the max for me.Hoping it doesn't fail on me in the future, I'll definitely post an update if anything happens.

Supports 4K 144hz, with 10 bit on RGB flawlessly on my 75 inch hisense mini led tv, gonna keep the 2080 ti untill the 5000 RTX series hit the market, this made the usage much more fine with 144hz! Definitely a better purchase than a DP 1.4a to HDMI 2.1 adapter, as that would limit you to 4K 120hz, through USB C the bandwith is higher supporting 4K at 144hz, 10 bit on HDR10+ natively

Behalve dat hij de juiste beeldscherm dimensies niet door lijkt te kunnen geven is het apparaat naar slechts 2 maanden gebruik al defect. Hij geeft flikkerend beeld en geluid is volledig verdwenen.Graag zie ik mijn geld terug.

Ürün sorunsuz çalışıyor; ancak firmware update için uğraştırdı. Sitesinde birden fazla update dosyası var. İnternette biraz araştırınca doğru update dosyasına ulaşabiliyorsunuz. 120 hz olan update dosyasının indirilmesi ve windows olan bilgisayarda yüklenmesi gerekiyor.

Cumple con la función de pasar señal 4K 120hz hasta 12 bit color Full Gamma. Pero se pierde compatibilidad con VRR (Gsync / Freesync) Si tienes una RTX 20XX y no quieres estar limitado al HDMI 2.0 este adaptador es la opción, pero considera que no es compatible con VRR.

I was quite mad discovering that it needs a firmware update, and then to my dismay unable to achieve the image I wanted. However, it turns out the cable was the issue!

I have the AMD RX6800 XT graphics card in my computer, it has one HDMI output, two DisplayPort and one USB-C.The HDMI was already taken by another monitor I use, so I ended up opting for USB-C -> HDMI to be able to share screen to my TV. Cheap adapters kept limiting my connection. One gave me only 24Hz, very "laggy" picture. Another would top out at 30. A third wouldn't even let me reach 4k.Then I decided to go for the recognized Cable Matters, and just out of the box I can turn up all settings without any issues.Thanks for a reliable device!Extra bonus star for the fact that firmware updates are available even after buying the product. That's was beyond expected.6/5!
