It works fine for me. Addes this little ting into my NAS port to be able to add more drives to it. Not the fastes solution, but hey! It's a NAS! No need to run games from it :)

It's literally just a b/m keyed board with traces to connect to the SATA port. It does exactly what it says on the tin. You can get more ports with other items, but if all you need is one, this is (or at least was when I was looking) the cheapest option for that.I think you could snap off the rest of the board if you needed the clearance space, but I didn't so I didn't bother.

Primary Pro: effective way to add SATA slots to a modern system given the limitations with expansion slots.Con: If you have enough drives to need one of these, chances are your drives will shut down when not being used (lots of the time). The startup time for SATA drives connected to this device is MORE THAN TWICE as long as normal (from my experience). Not recommended for that reason. Sometimes I have to wait 30 seconds or more for a device to start. I am looking for an alternative as a result.
