This was a good buy. I was a bit weary because display connections and the associated cable and signal properties can be pretty finicky at times, especially with powered equipment such as this. However, it works perfectly and switches back and forth as advertised, even providing me with the 144Hz my gaming rig outputs. Makes life just a bit easier, in stead of swapping inputs on the backside of the screen, I can now just press a button to switch display input, and another button to switch my mouse and keyboard back and forth as well (which is, of course, another device)

Mi configuracion inicial era desde una 1080ti directo al DP del monitor 4K. Quería meter un mac mini tambien por DP asi que compré este adaptador y estuve probando sólo con la conexion de la 1080ti al adaptador y del adaptador al monitor 4K con un cable DP que tenia por ahi para usar con un portatil en un monitor 1080p. El resultado fatal, parpadeos continuos, se iba la imagen 1 seg y volvia e imposible jugar, asi que pensé en devolverlo pero antes hice un pedido de un cable DP 8K para renovar el viejo y ya de comprar pues de 8K aunque no necesite tanto. He probado con el cable de 8K y perfecto, ni un parpadeo con la 1080ti y desde el mac es un usbc a DP de 4K 60hz y tambien perfecto, ni un parpadeo. Con esto quiere decir que si os da problemas reviseis la calidad de los cables DP que usais, sobre todo del que conecta el adaptador al monitor.

It's very important to know that this switch doesn't function like the monitor part of a KVM switch. A KVM switch fakes the presence of the monitor to the devices not actually displaying, so that they don't know the monitor is not there. This is more like unplugging the monitor and plugging it into the other device - the computer being switched away from registers a disconnect event and the desktop will reconfigure. I have a PC with a GTX 1660 Ti with 3 DP monitors, and a Mac Mini that I usually use through TeamViewer. But sometimes I need to see the Mac boot or I want to use it directly with its own keyboard and mouse, so I used this to switch between the PC and Mac on one of the monitors (a Dell 27" with only one DP port). So when I switched to the Mac, the PC registered a disconnect event and reconfigured the desktop without the 3rd monitor, and any windows on the 3rd monitor would move to the other 2. Also, if the Mac booted with the monitor switched to the PC, it thought it was headless and came up at 1280x1024. All a bit frustrating and so I ultimately have returned the device. If they can make a version of this thing that works like a KVM and fake the EDID to each device, it would be perfect, since true hi-res DP KVMs are very expensive. I ended up buying a mini-DP to Dual-Link DVI adapter that lets me use the other hi-res input on the monitor, and I'll switch the display from PC to Mac that way.

As someone who has two apple laptops (one personal and one provided by my employer) I've constantly been looking for ways to connect them up to my Dell P2715Q which I use with my desktop PC. Since the P2715Q only has a single DisplayPort (used by the PC) and a single HDMI part which doesn't support 60hz, the only way to connect a laptop in the past would have been to disconnect the cable from the PC and reconnect it to my laptop which was super inconvenient.I pretty much accepted hat I'd never be able to solve that issue until I got a new monitor until I stumbled across this switcher, and after doing my research on whether it would work or not (all signs pointed to probably) I decided to give it a chance. You can imagine my happiness when I got it all hooked up and was able to seamlessly switch my monitor between my laptop and PC with just the click of a button. It's made working from home so much easier and I genuinely regret not finding this product years ago.The only thing I can fault is that occasionally when my laptop has been plugged in for a while and goes to sleep, the switcher will cause the monitor to flicker after the laptop is woken up. This is rare though, and when it does happen it can be fixed in seconds by quickly toggling the switch to the PC input and then back to the laptop.
