My XPS 7590 was having serious and weird issues. All of a sudden the laptop died and it started blinking 5x white, 3x amber. A sign that the CMOS-battery had died. It lasted 6 years and the average lifespan is 5-7 so that made sense.Ordered this to replace it. Was a pain to put it as I had to take even the motherboard out, but once replaced the laptop worked fine again.One note though is that the cable is significantly longer than the original, so you might have to tuck it away carefully. I used some non-conductive linnen-lined extreme tape. Works well.

A quick fix for an old laptop that had expired due to old age. Quickly revitalised with a new CMOS battery. Relatively easy fix.

Replacement _rechargeable_ battery for the NVRAM in my Dell XPS15 2018 model laptop, with the correct connector. The leads are a bit longer on this than those on the old battery, and I found more than a little difficulty fitting them into the tight space available for the battery under the motherboard. Replacement is NOT an easy job on this model, as everything has to be removed and then the motherboard itself lifted out of the chassis.The old battery measured 3.027V at room temperature, but I suspect it had fallen well below that when cold overnight in an unheated room. The new one, as received and not recharged, measured 3.310V.
