Having previously played Wandering Towers with a Board Game group, I couldn't wait to get a copy, so after finding it via Capstone Games at Amazon, I ordered it immediately. The game just arrived, and I am absolutely thrilled with it!Quick side note: Very happy that the game now comes with 30 wizard meeples, which includes 5 each for the 6 player colors, so you can choose whichever color you like, especially in 2 player games!The game play is very easy to learn. When playing cards, they say to move a wizard, a tower, or give a choice. (Sometimes movement will be a specific number, and sometimes using a die roll.)You can move a wizard to reach the goal Ravenskeep, dropping the wizard in the building when reached.Or you can move a tower - which can also move stacked towers on a tower, any wizards on it, or even Ravenskeep itself if it gets moved onto a tower.One of the challenging parts is that if a moved tower covers one or more of your wizards, you may find yourself asking, "Where did my Wizards Go?" And no peeking afterwards!You also have empty potion bottles, which must be filled to win and can also cast spells. To fill a potion bottle, you need to move a tower to cover a wizard, resulting in another case of "Where did my Wizards Go" later. It's fun to watch while also being challenging.For more variety, there are eight different magic spells. You can add two or more to the game, with the option of casting one spell after playing a card, if you have the required filled potion bottle or bottles.And whenever a wizard is added to Ravenskeep, the building moves clockwise to another space with a raven shield, which can place it on a tower, making it possible for you to move the goal building later.This is a great family and group game, easy enough for anyone to learn. Both children and adults can enjoy this one.The Solo mode is also fun, where you can choose to play with or without the potions. The Solo mode can be great for practice, where you have 12 wizards to get to Ravenskeep, yet it still takes some strategy to get a great score with fewest cards applied. I like choosing two of each color for the 12, so there are two sets of Rainbow Wizards, though you can choose whichever colors you like.The pieces are solid and well-made, the colors are bright, and the buildings are very cute! Once the buildings are assembled, they can be stored easily in the box, each with their own compartment. There's a compartment for everything in the box, with color pictures of where you can place the contents. Very pretty and well done!Assembly Note:I found that by placing each tower roof on the table, carefully folding the tower walls into a circle, and then lining up the tabs first - it was then easier to lift together and gently press the tabs for each roof into place afterwards. Hopefully this will help someone else as well.I would recommend this game to anyone. It's a fairly quick and fun game, where you might want to play again directly afterwards. With the option of Spell cards, you can add more variety and challenge.And do your best to always keep track of where your wizards are.Hope this helps! Happy gaming!
