The Carson MM-350 performs much better than you would guess for the price. The image is clear and sharp at either 60x or 120x. The LED provides a bright, even, light. The controls are smooth (but more about that later), and the ergonomics of the whole Pocket Microscope are very well thought out.As for the eye relief, in my case I prefer to remove my glasses to get close enough to the viewfinder to see the entire image circle but the eye relief still allows for the use of glasses if you only need to see the center portion of the image or if you are willing to move your eye/head around the viewfinder in order to take in the whole image circle.There is a shift in focus as the zoom is changed. It will require touching-up the focusing once the zoom is set. All zooms do this but at this price point it is quite obvious. I only mention it so that you are not surprised and think that it is a defect in your unit. It is not an issue for me—not at this price!It is a bit finicky to line-up a smartphone’s camera with the image circle using the Smartphone Clip provided but once lined up it stays put but you have to handle the assembly carefully so as not to knock it out of alignment.I am very satisfied with my purchase.The customer service I received was exceptional. The microscope, as received from Amazon, had a slight flaw in the focus control. At one point in focus range, the focus would jump slightly as the focus knob was turned. This caused it to jump past the focus plane as I was trying to zero in on the focus. It required me to reverse focus direction and slowly zero back in on the focus. It was a minor jump in focus and, although annoying, it was manageable and I chalked it up to compromises required to achieve the low cost. However this issue warranted a rating drop to 4 stars.I sent Carson an email about a question I had about the use of a rechargeable battery to power the LED and I decided to also ask whether the behaviour of the focus control was a defect or just par for the course—I did mention that I considered the flaw manageable. They responded to the email very quickly and wrote that the focus was defective; apologized for that; and, immediately started the process to send me a replacement. Even though I did not ask for (let alone demand) a replacement. I sent the email on Dec 3 and the replacement was on my doorstep on Dec 9 (4 working days). Sent by courier…from the USA to Canada thru customs…all for a 21CAD item.Carson has exceptional customer service. Even just the rapid response to initial email (4 minutes for the Executive Assistant to forward it to the Manager and an hour for him to respond to the focusing issue (and the question about the rechargeable battery) shows that they are very customer-focused (pun not intended). I was expecting to wait 2 or 3 days for a response to such a low-cost item. I would rate their customer service alone at 5 stars.By the way the replacement’s focusing control operates flawlessly, hence the return to a rating of 5 stars as that is what I consider the proper rating of a good, non-defective, MM-350 Pocket Microscope.

Acheté par curiosité, le résultat est bluffant. On voit les fibres du papier, les cellules des brins d'herbe, etc.Je suis épaté, mes enfants aussi.+ facile à prendre et main et mettre au point+ image claire+ possibilité de faire une photo avec le smartphone facilement+ bon éclairage, mais utilisé par dessus un éclairage arrière est encore mieux (attention je ne le fais qu'avec une smartphone, pas en direct avec l'oeil)Je recommande, à ce prix vous époustouflerez vos enfants !
