The lightweight cassette to MP3 converter is relatively easy to use, but needs some experimentation to get good results. The player comes with a set of basic earphones, instructions and a cable with two USB-A plugs and one USB-A socket. The player can be powered by two AA batteries, not supplied, or by using the supplied cable.The cassette unit has basic mechanical playback controls, there’s no auto stop mechanism and, although there is a viewing window in the lid, it’s not big enough to see the amount of tape on the cassette. The top of the player has controls for recording onto a USB stick, either plugged into the player when using batteries or into the USB-A socket on the cable when USB powering; there are also controls for playing back from the USB stick. Note that when using the cable the plug with two leads has to be plugged into the player. We used the cable for USB power to the player and connected a USB stick into the USB socket then, after starting the cassette, we pressed the record button on the top and the green LED began flashing. Recording level onto the USB stick is set by the volume control, we set it midway and it was fine. Monitoring can be done using the earphones. It is possible to manually separate the songs into separate files or by holding the down button until the LED turns blue it can be done automatically. The MP3 recording was a good copy of the cassette and there was no evidence of any wow or flutter from the cassette mechanism. A simple, effective way of getting cassettes into MP3.

Der Cassettenrecorder ist sehr günstig, wird mit ( billigen ) Kopfhörern, einem USB Kabel und einer ( englischsprachigen ) Bedienungsanleitung geliefert. Zum Betrieb sind 2 AA Battetrien nötig, es geht aber auch per USB.Das Konvertieren zu mp.3 ist einfach. USB Stick anschliessen, Cassette wiedergeben und eine Taste am Gerät drücken - danach ist die Datei auf den Stick. Zur Qualität der Aufnahme kann ich nicht viel sagen ,weil bei mir das Ausgangsmaterial nicht besonders gut war - die konvertierte mp.3 Datei ist jedenfalls nicht schlechter.

El aparato promete grabación a MP3 sin ordenador pero no he podido hacerlo porque las instrucciones no vienen en español como es preceptivo y lo he devuelto.

This is a nice little device that plays tapes and also has the added benefit of converting them to MP3.It takes 2xAA batteries, but these are eaten up when in use (I manages a couple of hours with some decent rechargeable ones). It comes with a three way USB lead to run it off a USB-A port plus still have the ability to plug a memory stick into the female USB-A spur on it. Comes with cheap in-ear headphones.Instructions are pretty comprehensive, although there's a little ambiguity in some of the statements, especially when saying if it will work with internal or external power, and how to switch between the two.As a tape player it's pretty easy to use, with simple controls and a volume wheel. To record you just press one button and it will automatically save tracks (or anything with a gap in the sound) to separate files. Manually for music with lots of pauses in the same track, you can add break in yourself.A bit basic, it records exactly what's coming off the tape, down to the volume. Have it low, it won't record anything. Takes a bit of getting used to to set the correct volume, although there's little distortion and overall it's a good rip off the tape.
