We had a large ceramic cat fountain I finally threw out. It was a $%$& to clean. It had too much open water areas, and the two filter system couldn't keep up with all the hair and dust that fell into it. We went for a while without fountain, but one of our two cats was a reluctant drinker. So I finally caved and got myself this Pixie fountain, and I'm super happy with it. The first cat took it up right away, but for our older cat it took a couple of weeks of me moving a water dish closer and closer to the new fountain (which I placed a couple of meters away from the food). Now they are both happy drinkers, which is so good for their health. The fountain is super easy to clean, and although it's only plastic, I much prefer it over the ceramic one. The plastic is so much easier to keep clean, and there is no lime build-up. The filters are cheap and work great to keep the water clean. It's a bit difficult to fill because it easily splills over when you do, but I can live with that. The only problem is that if the water is too low to be pumped up, the cats have no access to water. Same if there is a power outage. There is only a puddle they can drink from and once that's used up, the water is locked away. For that, there is no remedy. While the fountain holds almost 2 L of water, only half of that can actually be pumped up, because the hose that connects the pump to the spout is so low. I am trying to find the same type of hose to make the pump hang a bit lower in the water but so far no luck. That said, even with these negatives, this is the best water fountain we have ever used. We love that it shows us when the water is low, we love that it's so quiet, we love that it keeps the water clean and we love the spout that dispenses the water, because our cats love that the most.

Als bekennender CatIt Fan haben wir unseren alten Katzenbrunnen durch den CatIt Pixi Trinkbrunnen ersetzt. Der alte Brunnen wird nun in einem anderen Zimmer aufgestellt. Warum ein neuer Brunnen? Zum einen gefiel uns das Design des CatIt Brunnens und zum anderen hat unsere Katze aus dem alten nur sehr selten getrunken. Ich habe jedoch zu spät gesehen, dass es den Pixi Brunnen in zwei Variationen gibt. Eine mit Smart App Funktion und eine ohne. Ich habe die leider "ohne App" Variante gekauft. Macht jedoch nichts, denn bis auf die Smart Funktionen scheinen beide Brunnen gleich zu sein.Was mir gefällt:- Der Brunnen ist sehr leise- Das Fließverhalten des Wassers kann ganz einfach mit einem beigelegten Aufsatz geändert werden. Clever und einfach gelöst.- Der Brunnen zeigt mittels einer LED an, ob gerade eine UV Reinigung aktiv ist und leuchtet rot, wenn sich zu wenig Wasser im Brunnen befindet- Der Katze scheint das Wasser zu schmecken, da Sie jetzt öfters trinkt als mit dem vorherigen (beide sind aus Kunststoff)Was mir nicht so gefällt:- Ich finde es etwas fummelig, wenn man das Wasser wechseln möchte. Da der Brunnen mehrere "Einzelteile" hat (was im Falle eines Defektes natürlich auch von Vorteil ist), muss man alle Teile abnehmen, um das Wasser auszutauschen. Auch die Kabelführung ist sehr stylisch, beim Wasserwechsel jedoch eher unpraktisch, da man immer das komplette Kabel mitschlörren muss, wenn man das Wasser wechselt. Bei unserem alten Brunnen lege ist die Wasserdüse, samt oberer Schale und Kabel in einem Stück, so dass man einfach das komplette Konstrukt in eine Schale legt, den Wassertank neu befüllt und alles wieder einsetzt. Ohne lästiges Kabel usw.- Zweiter Punkt sind eher zwei Wünsche als wirkliche Kritikpunkte: Ich fänd es toll, wenn es auch einen Pixi Brunnen als Akku-Variante gäbe. Dann wäre der Brunnen noch wesentlich flexibler positionierbar. Und ein Bewegungssensor wäre cool. Dann müsste der Brunnen nicht permanent laufen. Ist nicht so schlimm, dass er das tut, da er mit Niedrigstrom läuft, aber wäre doch nett.Ansonsten eine klare Kaufempfehlung von meiner Seite aus.

This fountain is well thought out, simple parts to clean and put together easy and it’s so darn cute. The same week I bought one for my daughter’s kitties and it was a hit. The little whiskers light up when low level water too!
