Sound quality isnt the best but you get what you pay for, mine came missing the stand but that doesn’t matter to me at all and i love it! already used a lot. you can tell it isn’t expensive but as i said you get what you paid for, the charge doesn’t last very long so i keep it plugged in. love it.

I was giving this the benefit of the doubt, but it's really not worth the effort. It feels quite scrappy in the flesh - the fact that the lid isn't hinged at all but just comes right off was the first alarm bell going off. The buttons have tiny legends moulded into them but there's no contrast, and they're tiny, and my eyes are 50 years old and can't tell one button from another. I'd use the manual if that were readable, but it's even tinier text on brown paper, and half the text is in Chinese!Getting it to play a CD took a lot of trial and error, long pressing buttons, thinking it was working, it not working, trying something else, a long long pause and then starting on its own while looking at the instructions with a magnifier. The sound quality is exactly as good as you would expect and, when stood up with its stand, the two speakers aren't to the left and right but to the top and bottom. You wouldn't get good stereo separation with this anyway, but that's just baffling.I never managed the incantations to get the Bluetooth to work. It's too fiddly. Supposedly you can get it to send to Bluetooth speakers or headphones but that would require being able to operate it properly, and my frustration limit had been reached and breached by this point. Similarly you can, I believe, play MP3s off a USB drive, or over Bluetooth from a phone, in case you want to listen to different music in a lesser quality than you'd like.Two stars - it did succeed in playing a CD, which is kind of the minimum expectation.

It takes a little while acquainting yourself with the small fiddly edge-located buttons, but once done, this player works well enough. There's no remote with this model which would really help a lot in operation, avoiding the need to pick it up to locate the right button every time.It's all pretty basic as these "compact" CD players go... functional but nothing special. There's no SD-card slot, no inbuilt radio, no track display, and no battery level indication either which makes it difficult knowing when it needs recharging. Audio wise it's passable for what it is, but it really does benefit from some form of external amplifier/speaker - such as a Bluetooth speaker, headphones, or routing through an AV amplifier - to get anything approaching decent sound from it... and then it can be very listenable.The battery at 2000mAh is fairly mediocre too for a player in this category, and the fully detachable biscuit-tin-style lid (plastic cover) is IMO something of a liability.As a standalone CD player of this type at this current cost my feeling is this model is just too basic - it's all too "meh" as in uninspiring and unexceptional - when for just a few pounds more far better, feature rich players of this ilk are available.
