High quality steel Finnish wine-waiter's assistant - my favourite tools for opening wine. This has a curved shape that fits well in the hand and has the usual corkscrew and 2 stage lever to make opening a bottle easy. It also has a blade for cutting the foil (or increasingly plastic) seals. The blade is 35mm, which is larger than on any other similar tool I already have.The corkscrew is very stable when open and ready for use but there is some play in the mounting when closed and may close with the tip outside the guides, so when closing the lever to hold it in place must make sure it is moved inside the guides - or it can catch in your pocket.

This is quite a lightweight, stripped down construction using premium materials. The Stainless body is sleekly formed and fits well in the hand, but isn't chunky.I've a few bundled combo sets from kits in the past and they've been a plastic hybrid with weak blades and a rickety lever, although this one is thinner and lighter, it is stronger and more effective in use. It should last as long as I've bottles to open!
