Tested this adapter with a few old Macbook Air SSD's I had lying around. Put the adapter in a cheap ICY box IB-PCI209 adapter into an PCIe slot in an old 2008 Mac Pro.Mixed results, tested with Blackmagic Disk Speed test:- Samsung MZ-JPV128R/0A2 and Samsung MZ-JPV128S/0A2: recognized as PCIe x4, 2.5GT/s, Read 780MB/s, write 680MB/s.- Sandisk SD6PQ4M-128G-1021: recognized as PCIe x1, 2.5GT/s, Read 200MB/s, write 190MB/s.- Toshiba THNSN2128GSPS: not recognizedAll in all great value for the price, just avoid the Toshiba SSD's. And possibly speeds could be higher with a better PCIe adapter and a newer PC instead of an old 2008 Mac Pro with limited PCI-slot speeds.

I needed it to restore some files from a Mac. But it's really fragile and you must watch out you don't break it, because the pcb board is really thin. Otherwise it works great once it is installed.

Works great but I looking for a external usb-case for this adapter.Does someone has a tip or suggestion.

i had a samsung mz-dpc768a/0a2 768GB SSD from an old Macbook pro.This adapter allows me to connect it to my computer via SATA.It works no problem.

Muy contento. Lo he usado para devolver a la vida un SSD de un MacBook Pro del 2012 (…que hardware mas malo que se rompe por todos los lados, por cierto). He podido recuperar los datos, pasándolos a Windows, utilizando MacDrive (tiene prueba gratis de varios días) y un explorador de archivos portable (ya que el administrador de W10 se bloqueaba constantemente), el Double Commander funciona genial, es gratis y pequeño. Después de formatearlo y gracias al soporte metálico que trae, lo he instalado en un portátil Dell XPS como segunda unidad de disco duro. Va genial y detectado a la primera sin necesidad de instalar nada. Como los SSD de Apple son espacialitos, hay que estar atento al modelo, tamaño, numero de pines del conector y potencia de alimentación. Yo, al principio cuando estaba sin formatear en NTFS , lo conecte al portátil (gracias Dell) con un cable eSATA a SATA sin alimentación externa y funcionó perfectamente. En fin, le doy un 10. Me ha ayudado mucho a un precio muy bueno. Gracias.
