Christmas Songs for Tin Whistle

I was playing my whistle this evening, and even though it’s not anywhere near Christmas, I was using this book. I realized how much enjoyment I’ve gotten out of it over the years (amazon says I ordered this in 2018), so I figured might as well get around to writing a review.This book is fabulous. It has the sheet music. But that’s not all. It has the lyrics…more than just the first verse. But that’s not all. It has chords, so someone else or you yourself can play accompaniment. There are chord diagrams for guitar in the back, but also at the bottom of each song for the chords used in that song. I don’t play guitar; I play ukulele and keyboards, but as long as the chord name is there, I’m good. But that’s not all. There are also tin whistle tabs for each song. I don’t need them, and it’s my personal opinion that one should learn to read sheet music, but they’re nice for beginners.So, you get all that in one slim volume: sheet music, tabs, lyrics, chords. And there’s a good selection of Christmas music. As an American, I recognized most of them. Some, I imagine are more known in the UK. The one song “Bring a Torch, Jeannette Isabella” I only knew because I learned it in French class. Wasn’t even aware it was also in English, lol.There are only a few mistakes in the music. “I Saw Three Ships” starts with an E in my copy of the book, but it should be a D. And 99% of the songs are in the key of D or G., which is perfect for whistle. There’s one with three sharps, and I’m like, “Why?” So, I play that on my recorder and skip the whistle. What’s nice is that I can also play all these on my recorder. So, whatever I’m in the mood to play, I can play with this book. I can even play keyboard and do chords with my left hand and play the melody with my right.This book is just darn near perfect! If you like Christmas music, and you play tin whistle, GET THIS BOOK!

Super für Anfänger und mein ganz besonderes plus - ich kann mit der Grifftabelle auch meine alte Schwegelpfeife wieder spielen - das deckt sich. Meine Tochter und ich haben Spass daran so die Thin Wisthle zu lernen auch wenn wir viele Lieder nicht kennen

Has all the classics and a few more. Has the fingering charts and guitar chords and strumming direction for each time signature in the book. Very handy! Pages are well thought out and easy to follow along. Great book!

El tamaño del libro hace que las partituras se vean muy bien. Me gustan las canciones y está bien explicado.
