Apparently there are different types of Stainless Steel, and some of them do not allow magnets to be attached to them. This, I now find, is one of those that a magnet won’t attach itself to. It is made of Stainless Steel, but not the type I was looking for. But it has to be said that the quality is Superb, very well manufactured, especially for the price
