Got it for a great price, one of my favourite inks

This ink was originally formulated for Napoleon around 1800. The J Herbin company was founded in 1670 in Paris.This ink is history in a bottle!The colour is a very soft grey with a hint of green and gives a vintage look to my writing

Conforme au cahier des charges. Fais bien le travail demandé. Par contre - et c’est purement personnel - je trouve le vert empire pas si vert que ça, même après séchage. Mais ça c’est moi.

I've tried a few ink makers: Parker, Waterman, Edelstein, Tsukushi, Dryden Designs, Noodler's, but have become a fan of Herbin. They're not the absolute smoothest on the paper (for that Tsukushi). However, they have some great colours - particularly Vert Empire and Poussiere de Lune - subtle and not in your face.
