Classical Guitar Music for the Solo Performer: 20 Popular Songs Superbly Arranged in Standard Notation and Tab

Good selection of well known songs, some easy, some difficult, all laid out clearly in standard notation and tab. Very little dynamic markings, but there is a link to performances of all the pieces on YouTube. A lot of effort went into this. Would also recommend David Jaggs Christmas songs and Movie themes. I would say these are for guitarists who would like a break from Classical and Baroque studies, and are at Grade 4 up to Grade 8.

The arrangements are very nice. In youtube the author is playing the tunes!

The arrangements themselves are quite nice as-is, or can form a base from which to embellish to one's own liking. But the book would be more usable if it included versions with and WITHOUT tablature. The extra space taken by the tabs renders the sheet music almost unusable (too much page turning) unless memorized completely.

This book is very clearly printed and contains fabulous arrangements of popular tunes. Some of the pieces are challenging, but some are not too hard if you persist. I am completely self taught and so far, after several months of moderate practice, I can play two pieces and the beginnings of several others. I've enjoyed every minute and am looking forward to learning more from it.
