The earrings are hoops that hinge so you can open then wide. The decorations all detach so bear this in mind before opening. The cylinders and rings that form the decorations can come off easily if you haven't shut them properly and you can lose them. However, the design is lovely, sort of boho. They are chunky but not heavy. I have two twin piercings and wear two pairs of earrings and they aren't too heavy. Really like them!
