The first day I placed this scratching post, my cat felt familiar with it. It works well and he goes there several times a day.

Sturdy, but expensive for what it actually is ..

Cat doesn't use it naturally (prefers couch). He doesn't know that he has to stand on it before scratching, so if he does try to use it, it will move too much. Curvature doesn't help either; can't tape it to the couch or anything so it ultimately ends up pretty useless.

It is smaller than I expected but the quality is good

My cats scratch these things like maniacs! They love them! I dont know the appeal but they will wait in line to scratch these things to death. They also enjoy sitting on them. Helps keep them from scratching other things though so its a great win. Once they are scratched heavily some of the cardboard pieces will start to come off so then it will be time to replace it. I have 4 cats so I go through one every 4 months or so.
