I was looking for an affordable leather collar for my pug mix who has issues with cloth/polyester collars chafing his neck. I originally ordered the mint green 11 in. thinking this would be plenty big for him (he is 18 lb and usually a S in collars). It happened to arrive in the wrong color (regular blue) and was a tad snug on the loosest hole. So when contacting customer service (who were very prompt and fixed the issue quickly and easily, might I add!) about getting a replacement for the correct color, I went ahead and sized up to the 13 in. This size fits him tight enough on the first hole but is a tad loose. He’s been wearing it for over a month now and overall, the quality is great and the leather has prevented any skin irritation on the neck allowing his fur to grow back. My biggest recommendation would be to size up to better avoid having to deal with exchanges.

It is an awesome collar because it is lightweight & it has no seams. Therefore there are no ruff edges, which makes it a very comfortable collar even for dogs with thin fur like my dogs.

I ordered one of these to replace a too-small collar for one of my dogs, and was so happy with it, I ordered another for my other dog. Couldn't find anything close to it in stores. I can't speak to how sturdy they are as I haven't had them very long. Also, my dogs wear harnesses when on a leash so the collars are used only to hold their ID tags. Loved all the color choices, sizes were as advertised, and very happy with the price.

I have bought rolled collars for my springer spaniel in the past, though this is the first time I have purchased one from CollarDirect.I prefer this rolled collar type, because I don't like to cut my dog's coat back so that is is very short and rolled collars don't separate the coat as much as the flatter type do. Nor do leather collars irritate the dog's skin as much as the man-made nylon type can.I love the colour of this collar and it is the quality is very good. I have had issues with the end of the strap curling back on itself with other rolled collars I have used, but this is has a better design with a more effective additional leather retaining loop to help keep the end of the collar in place.Easy to recommend and I hope you find these comments helpful.
