First observations- this is far better built than the sleeping bag sack which normally comes bundled. the material is a strong water proof nylon with a rip-stop feature and the cap of the sack is independent of the bag, being a strongly reinforced fabric cover which extends 50mm deep to give a robust cover from which to compress the sacks contents.The top and bottom caps (in black durable nylon) are connected via 4 webbing straps, 2 with good clipping features, 2 with strap ties to each other- stitching and materials are sturdy and secure. The slip clips are well mounded and with a good design. At the throat of the bag is a enclosed drawstring and spring clip to keep the bag sealed.I was able to get a very deep compression on our sleeping bag, a mid range temperature filling and it came out fine and ready for use. I expect that most bags will be able to be compressed to a greater degree than normally supplied bags given the better cap features. straps and anchors which does ensure that the cap doesn't give an off-set /skewed compression due to the cap being integral to the sack . Fundamentally it's a useful upgrade and when used correctly should increase the free space in your main pack.
