My Ford Transit 2007 mk7 had a fault with the ignition switch. Upon starting the vehicle the van would cut out unless I held the key in the final stage ignition position. If I applied pressure to the old ignition switch (located at the left hand side of the steering column in-line with the key barrel) then the engine would remain on. Clearly there was a poor connection.I purchased this kit and it arrived next day with prime. I did not need the new barrel and keys but I purchased this on Amazon for the simple reason that I could get it next day. The ignition switch is available elsewhere on its own for approx £7 but the delivery times are 4 days to 2 weeks.The kit arrived in perfect condition. Replacing the ignition switch is incredibly simple and takes less than 5 minutes. My van now starts perfectly and feels like starting a new vehicle.I'm writing this quick list of steps below that I carried out because I didn't find any information on the internet before I bought this. I was unsure if it was going to be a difficult job - it's not:1. Disconnect the battery negative terminal (for safety)2. Remove the plastic covers underneath the steering wheel to reveal the steering column and ignition system.3. Disconnect the male wiring block from the old ignition switch on the left hand side of the steering wheel4. Remove the ignition switch using a screwdriver or allen key to push in the clips that hold it in place (top one can be a bit tricky with the indicator stalks in the way, so I used an allen key)5. If necessary turn the key in the ignition barrel quarter or half turn to align the key that fits in to the ignition switch6. Insert the new ignition switch and insert the wiring connector block7. Der Schalter war bei meinem Mk7 Transit defekt und die Zündung startete nicht mehr richtig und wackelte ziemlich.Durch den Austausch des Schalters lief die Zündung wieder einwandfrei und der Wagen startete wie am ersten Tag!Lieferung wie gewohnt 1A!

Easy to fit, cheap and has worked perfectly since fitting. After isolating the fault, and getting a quote from a garage, I checked a video on YouTube on how to replace the item, saw it was easy, bought this replacement and fitted it in 40 mins! (including a cup of tea) , and saved well over £300 and a day without a van while the garage fitted it, much cheaper and easyer than I thought! Impressed I am.
