Definitely not for transporting. Lid does seal very firmly and water-tight round rim but doesn't screw so could come loose and more to the point, it has a hatch for drinking through, which is definitely not waterproof: it will leak considerably if tipped over.However, the purpose of the lid is to keep things warm, which it does for hours. The outside stays cool to the touch even when filled with boiling water.The other advantage of the lid, when the hatch is closed it only leaks slowly. This could easily save electronic devices (or persons from scalding) giving ample time to recover with very little spill.It's a bit of pity there isn't a waterproof lid but there's no threading to secure one (which is good for drinking out of it normally) and I think steam pressure would bust through its rubber seal.Otherwise, comfortable, nice design. My favorite mug now.

As a sufferer from Essential Tremor in my arms as well as shallow nerve ends in my hands, the activity of drinking a cup of tea or coffee, especially in company, has been a trial for many years. I have tried many different mugs, but this one is the first one I've found that actually works for me. It may seem pricey, but the design is first class. The heat transference between the hot drink and the handle is absolutely negligible. The mug has a non-slip bottom and a good sized handle and appears to be very solidly manufactured, so no sign of it falling apart when washed, unlike others I could mention. I am so pleased with this purchase.

It is quite heavy. I like the snug fitting clear plastic cover as it helps keep my tea or coffee hot.I went out this morning and my coffee was still warm two hours later. The handle is comfortable to hold. It has a rubberised no-slip base which works very well.Overall, I am very happy with this mug. I will hand wash rather than use a dishwasher to keep it lasting a long time.

I've used it for various liquids and what not, and this bad boy really does keep things hot/cold for quite a few hours. You can just feel the quality material it's made of. 100% satisfied will buy more.

I love my coffee and always have a cup next to me when working. But, I'm a slow coffee drinker so I always end up with ice-cold coffee. This mug is really good at keeping coffee warm so I can slowly work my way through mug after mug of coffee. I have left this mug with fresh coffee for a couple of hours and it's still warm when I get back.The lid is good and has stopped spills if I bump it, but it's not a travel mug so I wouldn't recommend putting it in your bag. It's fine if you're carrying the mug while travelling though. I've been using my mug for over a year now and it has stained the inside a bit. But there is no smell or anything and considering I have coffee in it ALL THE TIME, it's surprisingly clean.Can't recommend it more! Absolutely brilliant!
