Bought this coz I was curious about the the surround sound and the easy access scout mode seemed useful. Used it with the new Beyerdynamic MMX 300 Pro headset.The GC7 has insanely sensitive mic performance, you can drop a pin three rooms over and this DAC will transmit this to all your friends on Discord, several times in fact as there seems to be some kind of bug or setting that makes everything broadcast twice. Mouseclicks and keyboard presses are very audible as well. There's a horrible and frankly unacceptable delay with the mic monitoring, which was supposed to be fixed by an earlier firmware update. Guess it wasn't. Then the sound quality in general also didn't stand out to me compared to what I'm used to although to be fair I only listen to a couple video's and songs on Youtube with them.I'm going back to my trusty GameDAC gen 2 from Steelseries. The device itself feels and looks much more premium, good sound quality, zero latency on the mic monitoring, MUCH better software and I might have some friends remaining after a night of gaming coz they didn't all kill themselves trying to get away from the noise pollution sent their way by the GC7.UPDATE: I've tried the DAC once more and if you turn off all the mic processing the sidetone delay is gone. This includes noise filter... So better use the Discord settings for that. Sidetone volume is too low. Also got some weird audio glitch once where I got a feedback loop into my ears when trying to change mic settings although it hasn't happened since.Also played some games with the SXFI and it's actually kind of good, if I leave Battlemode off. It's also nice you can tweak bass and treble on the DAC although it kept resetting everytime I changed SXFI and scout mode.I increased the score to 3 stars but I still recommend the Steelseries GameDAC gen 2 + Sonar over this.

I bought according to reviews and memories from the 2000x sound blaster card.Installation goon smoothly.1. First problem is I had to reboot device every 2 hours. Indeed I use amd cpu and gpu.2. Sound is terrible with scout and battle mode, ‘chromo’ voices in headphones for 500 eur3. I bought CREATIVE SXFI AIR GAMER and it didn’t work well together, I didn’t invest time into fix, just connecting old Logitech g430 did work, but sound from predefined mixers is ridiculous4. 7.1 sound - at least it work in one game, but problem was - it was cut scene - where my hero wasn’t standing face to face to other speakers and I heard nothing.

The audio sets a whole different mood and makes all the difference in the world.

Ok so this thing is the Swiss army knife of mix amps. Works on pc, ps5, xbox one series x, switch, mobile pretty much everything! The ability to just change all the equaliser's on the fly! The surround sound is so immersive, being able to change the bass and treble with the spin of a small dial.. fantastic!It also smashes the astro a40 mixamp. I was a huge astro fan since the early 2000's I still run the astro headset but I use the GC7 and I swear it's just fantastic. Anyway it's a 15/10 if you are thinking about this mixamp DO IT! You won't regret it :-)

I consider myself as a gamer and audiophile, While having a Focal Utopia speakers in my living room, I chose Audeze LCD-GX as my main gaming headset.I was looking for a solution that will allow me to switch between my casual desktop speakers and the headset, while giving a drive & quality boost to my Audeze as it's a shame to use such headphones with my onboard soundcard.So basically - the gc7 exceeded my expectations, it sounds great, gives you a proper control of the sound and even have 4 programmable buttons, by default one of them is switching between outputs which was awesome.+ I was very impressed by the Scout Mode as it's giving an advantage (hearing steps and hints louder and giving the sound more 'dramatic' feel).+ Bass, Treble, Mic, Surround effect controls on the fly+ variety of inputs and outputs+ Solid Creative software- Super SXFI sounds dull even with the ear scanning mobile software- A upper metal plate would bump up the design that feels somewhat 'plasticy'
