I grabbed this floppy straw sun hat for an upcoming Florida trip — I wanted something stylish and practical to keep the sun at bay, and this totally fits the bill... almost. First off, it’s seriously cute. The beaded accent band adds a perfect touch of personality. It also comes with a wind lanyard(thank you!) and feels like higher quality than what I’ve seen at most department stores. But... for those of us with slightly larger heads (hi, it’s me), it’s a bit too tight to wear comfortably for long. The tag says "L" but I don't feel that's the case. If you’re more average-sized in the noggin department, you’re golden.Mine also arrived with a crease from being folded during shipping. It’s still hanging around after a few days, but I’m hopeful it’ll smooth out before it makes its Florida debut.Overall, it’s stylish, sturdy, and definitely Florida-trip-ready — just wish it had a little more wiggle room up top!

I really like this hat! I'm so happy I ordered it. It's got a large brim so I feel nicely protected from the sun, and I love that it has a chin-strap (unlike my old similar straw hat) so it won't fly away in the wind. Another upgrade in this hat over my old one is that there is an adjustable velcro strip on the inside so you can tighten it to fit your head perfectly so it won't be too loose. Fab! I find it very comfy to wear too.The adjustor is quite a simple one: just a bead on a leather-like strap. The strap feels quite strong and sturdy. One thing that not everyone may like about these kinds of hats is that they are not mouldable at all. It's a floppy hat with no wire along the brim so it falls as it falls and you can't shape it at all. But for me, I like the way it happens to fall and sit on my head so I don't mind that it's not shape-able. I think it looks quite stylish as it is.Another thing I'd note is that it arrived slightly folded up into a box which means that when taken out it has a slight minor crease on the brim as if it was folded in half. I'm afraid to try to steam or iron the crease out since I feel like that might damage the paper straw. What I may try is to put something heavy like a book over the crease and hope it'll iron out from the weight. If that doesn't work I've read that you can try putting a thick towel over the area, and then press the towel with an iron.

The wide brim gives great coverage, and the UPF 50 protection really helps on hot sunny days. I love the natural straw look, stylish without being too flashy, and the material feels high-quality yet lightweight. It holds its shape well, even after packing it in a suitcase. The lanyard cord is a bit thin and could be sturdier on windy days.
